Biography

Dr. Biswajyoti Hazarika is a highly experienced and skilled Head & Neck Surgeon with over 20 years of expertise in the field. He specializes in the surgical treatment of tumors and cancers in the head and neck region, which includes the oral cavity, nose, para-nasal sinuses, larynx, pharynx, salivary glands, thyroid, and parathyroid glands. Dr. Hazarika is proficient in both plastic reconstruction of resected areas and advanced surgical techniques, including endoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries for head and neck conditions. Recently, he has also incorporated Robotic Head & Neck Surgery into his practice.

In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Hazarika is deeply committed to the functional rehabilitation of patients with head and neck cancers, ensuring they receive comprehensive care throughout their recovery.

Dr. Hazarika completed his fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bangalore. He then pursued his residency at Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Centre in Guwahati. He further honed his skills at Prince Aly Khan Hospital, Mumbai, under the guidance of Dr. Sultan A. Pradhan. These diverse experiences have provided him with a broad and in-depth understanding of head and neck oncology.

In 2009, Dr. Hazarika joined the Department of Surgical Oncology at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, as a Consultant. He was appointed Head of the Department of Head & Neck Surgery in 2013 and served in that capacity until August 2016.

Dr. Hazarika has contributed extensively to the medical community, with numerous publications in national and international journals. He has also authored chapters in the Atlas of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, further showcasing his expertise and dedication to the advancement of his field.
