Dr. T. S. Kler

Biography

Padma Bhushan Dr. Kler is a distinguished figure in the field of cardiology, with an illustrious career spanning over 37 years. During this time, he has performed more than 35,000 angioplasty procedures, including coronary, renal, carotid, and peripheral angioplasties.

A trailblazer in electrophysiology, Dr. Kler established India’s first electrophysiology department at a leading hospital in Delhi. He was the first doctor in India to implant an ICD, CRT-P, and CRT-D, as well as the first to perform HIS Bundle Pacing in 2015. Additionally, he has been instrumental in initiating RF ablation and cardiac device implantation programs at top medical centers across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.

Dr. Kler is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), UK, and the American College of Cardiology. He also holds the position of Honorary Professor of Cardiology at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and O.P. Jindal University in Sonipat. He has trained over 300 doctors from India and abroad in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology and serves as a scientific advisor to several multinational companies based in the USA.

With around 150 publications in national and international journals, Dr. Kler is a respected speaker at major medical conferences, including the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He is frequently invited as a guest faculty member at conferences in the USA, France, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Pakistan.

In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the field, Dr. Kler was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2005. His honors also include a D.Sc (Honoris Causa) from Punjab University, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Medical Association, the Times Healthcare Achievers Award for Legend of Medicine, and the Delhi Medical Association Centenary Award, among many others.
