A medical oncologist is trained to treat different types of cancer using chemotherapy and other medications, such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy. The medical oncologist designs a treatment plan after consultation with doctors from other disciplines. The doctor completely evaluates the nature of cancer and then treats cancer through various methods like chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and targeted therapy. Symptoms and signs of cancer may vary from person to person and depend on the type of cancer, its location, the places cancer cells have spread. A few patients show no prominent symptoms until the cancer is far advanced. An individual with these signs and symptoms must consult their doctor. The symptoms might arise from noncancerous conditions. You must see a medical oncologist if you have any of the below-listed symptoms of cancer::

  • Fatigue
  • Weight changes, including unintended loss or gain
  • Persistent, unexplained muscle or joint pain
  • Hoarseness
  • Persistent cough or trouble breathing
  • Persistent indigestion or discomfort after eating
  • Lump or area of thickening that can be felt under the skin
  • Unexplained bleeding or bruising
  • Skin changes, such as yellowing, darkening or redness of the skin, sores that won’t heal, or changes to existing moles
  • Persistent, unexplained fevers or night sweats
  • Changes in bowel or bladder habits
  • Difficulty swallowing

Dr Priya Tiwari works from 11 am to 5 pm (Monday to Saturday). The doctor is not available on Sunday. Although the doctor is mostly available at the given time, call the doctor or his assistant to confirm his availability.
